Lexmark X83....

A friend of mine has a Lexmark X83. I think it's a scanner/printer. The problem is that when he turns it on it says unlock printer on the keypad located on the printer. We took it apart somewhat....This is what I know is NOT the problem....The PC itself (because it was not connected to the PC), The Lock (because we took the back panel with the lock on it off the printer). Any ideas? I'm think this might have to be sent out. Thanx in advance.

If your warranty is still in effect, I suggest contacting the Lexmark tech people ... it may be an internal probvlem, like the keypad mechanism being stuck inside or something...

If it is still under warranty do one or both of the above. Lexmark are VERY good and will help you.
