I just wanted to know what kind of cars you all like.

I have 2 favortie cars
1) A Dodge Viper
2) Chevy Camaro

Posted by: Outlaw

Lamborghini Diablo

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Toyota Supra '97
Pontiac Firebird

*drool*

Posted by: Tecil

1. Aston Martin V12 Vanquish
2. BMW M5 or M3
3. Subarus Impreza WRX
4. Skyline GTR
5. Audi TT

In that order.

Posted by: Null Actor

Posted by: JANNA

Posted by: AK47

Gimme a truck too. No Chevys or Dodge though

Tundra or F150/F250.

Posted by: Bobaroo

I have a bunch..

Mitsubishi Eclipse
Mitsubishi 3000GT
Subaru Impreza WRX
Acura Integra
Toyota Celica/Supra

Posted by: taco_fox

DMC DeLorean

Really.

Posted by: AK47

You're not alone radar.

Posted by: The-AoD

Well my favorite so far would be my work truck... Here's its stats

Chevy Cheyenne 3500HD (Heavy Duty)
454 RAT pushing into 500 horsies and well over 400ft/lbs. of torque.
5 Speed with low and overdrive (Reverse doesn't count )
8' Super Dump with PTO driven hydrualic system

Let's just say, that thing is COOL.

As for a car, I'd love to be behind the wheel of a '99 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe with a Twin Turbo from Bosche of course

But for an overall car, I'd take a Volkswagen Beetle GLS-TDI before anything else...

Posted by: Rayneeday

I loved my 68 camaro, I wish i still had it. I will have one again someday!!!!

I also will own a Jaguar S-series, platinum colored All I have to do is go back to college and get my degree, Mr. Ray promised me one if I did that.

Other than that I like a GMC or Chevy truck, red, stickshift of course!

Posted by: Chako

Trabant.

Posted by: Tweaker

99 Jeep Wrangler

3 inch lift

color red

33 inch tires

Made for wild country!!!

Posted by: Cheese

You'd have to break both my legs to fit in most of these cars. Give me an Acura CL, or for some real speed, an M5. And those Marauders i saw yesterday were quite nice, same with the old Impala SS.

Posted by: Qui Gon-Jinn

hmmm a good subject...

I love my Truck.. Trucks are the only way to go.. IMHO that is..

I just got my 99 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab.. it's only a 4cyl.. 5 speed.. 2.5Liter White exterior.. Grey Interior.. Pioneer Cd.. Great sounding all around.. Bed Liner.. it's my dream truck.. I would have gotten a V6.. but the only one I could find was an auto.. and out of my price range..

Here is a pic... http://kustomsolutions.com/dakotainfrontofcamelback.jpg

Now.. if I had to get a car.. and could fit in one.. VIPER.. simple as that..

Nice cars.. my wife has a 97 Taurus.. it's very nice.. drives well.. very few problems..

77 Chevy Malibu.. classic muscle car..

I like the older cars.. they have the look.. the power.. and just rock..

Still would only trade my new truck in on a newer Dodge Dakota.. or Ram.. I have really enjoyed my Dodge Vehicals..

Posted by: Sarc

Here are my favorites right now, and off the top of my head.

'88 Mitsu Starion ESi-R (Mine, I own this one.)
'?? Porsche GT2 (Will probably never own.)
'03 Mitsu Lancer VI Evolution (This car just rocks.)
'78 Dodge Magnum XE (I had a love hate relationship with this one. Gave her up for the Starion.)

Posted by: smithersdd

WOW, i haven't been here in such a long time...anyway,heres my list.

1. 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra
2. Ferrari 360 Spider
3. DeLorean
4. Porsche Carrera
and finally, the old corvette with the double bouble back window.

oh yea, and nice smilies(i would've put em' all, but it won't let me)

Posted by: Hell's Wrath

My 2000 Jeep Wrangler

4 inch lift kit
33 inch tires
456 gears

Soon to have custom front and rear bumpers and front wench.

Just thought you might like to see it

Hell' Wrath

Posted by: redwench

that would indeed be a wrangler. worst onroad drive imaginable handy for offroad however.

and i sincerely hope youre going to have a front winch, not a wench

Posted by: Hell's Wrath

Nah, I think I will just strap you to the front wenchy.
And, I use my Wrangler as a daily driver. I drive 35 minutes each way, and have found no discomfort in the drive. It does work very well offroad. We just got back from a 4Wheel trip this weekend. Many vehicles broke down on this trip as the trail was the worse the committee has seen it in years. Ours had no problems with the trip.

Posted by: TheeMon

Posted by: Sarc

Al-right, I don't have a picture of my Starion, but here's a picture of a blue one w/ a '83 hood. Mine doesn't have the scoop or vents on the hood and is black.

BTW, these are also known as Chrysler Conquests.

Ive always like the dodge viper. The one I really liked was the first year one painted blue with the white stripes. I hope someday to own one.

Posted by: AK47

The one you speak of is the GTS and it wasnt avaliable the first year

And yeah, thats the only viper that I liked.

Posted by: Spork Lover

91-96 300zx TT
Dodge Stealth R/T TT or 3000gt VR4
93-97 Supra TT
98 + Z28/SS or Transam/WS6
95 ZR1 Corvette
2002 Z06 Corvette
Lancer Evolution (I hope to get one as soon as they hit stateside)
BMW m5
Any AMG line car....sweeet.
The newest Edition to my want list, a 2003 Mustang Cobra(they are supercharged now...makes em faster than a vette..over 10 grand less)

and The car that is out of my league, but a great want... a 911 Turbo

Anyone see a trend in the cars I choose?

Posted by: Tecil

I test drove a Viper back in 96 or 97 I don't remember. My friends dad put the 10k down on his credit card for the test drive and we took it out for a spin. It was fun to drive and fast, but I'd still take one of the cars I listed over it.

Posted by: Sarc

$10,000 down for a test drive!

Holy crap!

I guess they really want you to bring those things back.

Doubtfull I'll ever drive one.
Must of been fun though.

That, and aside from the BMW and Benz, they are all impractical

Posted by: The-AoD

I really like my cousins new "drag car". The fully built from the block up, a 400 Small Block chevy and dropped it into an '84 Pontiac Firebird with a sweet 4-speed tranny. They do that with thier "spare" parts. They have thier own garage, so they can, but anyways. Thier last build was an old Valiant with a 360. That thing would do 11.2 in the quarter mile and 0-60 in 5.4 And the new firebird, which it's shiny gold color will do 10.6 in the quarter and 0-60 in 5.1. It's pretty sweet, I might just have them help me build up that old '69 Chevelle they have back in the yard. It's beat to hell, but the frame and powertrain are in good enough condition to be rebuilt. The best thing about it is, they have thier own air gun for custom paints, and an account with a few different paint providers. I would just LOVE a chevelle with Kia's 'jalapeno color.

Anyways, went to a car show a while ago, and i just LOVED the overall winner. 1969 Camaro, hybrid with a 1998 LS1 Camaro. They kept the old body and frame, with the rear end and drive line. Added the LS1 Tranny and engine, with a bit of rebuilding. It must of been well over $100,000 worth of work into it, but basically, the owner said, "This is my childhood favorite, full with todays luxury and technology. In other words, it's a '69 Camaro updated for todays competition."

And to the person who said they liked the Marauder. Those things are HUGE. I wouldn't mind them, I saw them on Car and Driver. They said it pushes out at 302hp and comes fully equiped. And Mercury's commercial for it, is nice. "Make room". Hehe

Posted by: Spork Lover

Naw nothing impractical about my cars They would make great racers Not like im gonna take them to the grocery store or fit a soccer team in it. Granted you have to slow down for speed bumps....but all of them are great.... especially the AWD RWS 3000gt VR4. But for Practicality's sake it would have to be an amg e55, or a M5 for me. They are Dr Jekyl/Mr Hide(edit: I meant Hyde) type cars!

Canis.. and beleive it or not.. but when you stay out of the throttle on the 98 + camaro/firebird, 97+ corvettes.... they get great gas mileage(only if equipped with a 6 spd). Drove Trans AM WS6 from Washington D.C to the boot heel of Misery, and in the mountains of VA we got 22-23 MPG and on the flat lands we got 25-26 MPG.... I was amazed.

11.2 is a pretty healthy time for the 1/4.... not as fast as my 14.2 second GTP Soon she will be into the 13's !

Posted by: Qui Gon-Jinn

Just got back from LA... did LA to Phx in 6.5 hours.. not to bad.. found out my little truck fully loaded with lan equipment and tables will do 97 mph... and I am in the 20-23 mpg range.. with the AC running.. but today it's going to have a Complete wash and detail.. cause it's DIRTY and NASTY from the Lan.. I think one LA Lan a year is going to be my limit.. the drive is horriable.. but the ppl and the fun makes me forget all about it..

Posted by: tkron

I always liked the style of the 68 Dodge Charger, although the 1955 thunderbird hard top convertable was a clasic too

Posted by: Canis Lupus

For those who always wanted the cars they dreamed of but couldn't afford the real thing... click here ...

Posted by: Sarc

dude its kool as hell, red w/ black interior and a set of 10's in the back woulda put 12's but my dad said the speakers wouldnt fit

Posted by: The-AoD

Well, I finally got to see my cousin again... He came down for a couple hours last night and brought the new "family" mobile. Brand new Chevy Impala, with the little wing on the back, nice gold colouring too. The secret is the Pioneer Audio system 10-cd rack and the pair of 600w subs in the back, which the wife doesn't appreciate, but he has a small switch to turn them on and off. He's living in paradise, that bastard! heh Nice car, only had 1800 miles on it when he got here. heh

Anyway.

BTW, shame on the idea of a FWD Mustang.

Posted by: AK47

Posted by: The-AoD

Well, I'm not going to restart that useless arguement again, I'd rather have a Camaro anyways, always beat the mustang anyways

Specially a 1968 with a 302. To bad thier so hard to find since Ford whined about them having the 302 first.. Stupid ford

And I have to say, what a signature for laggomatic \|/

There's alot of cars I'd love to have, 'cept for American cars. Only american car I'd love is a '68 Camaro with the 302, other than that... >:P

Here's mainly my list of cars I'd love to be found in heheh... of course, that I wouldn't ever have a chance at owning.

Subaru Impreza WRX
Porsche 911 GT2 (Or Carrera 4)
Ford Tauntus (German Build)
BMW Z3 Convertable (StYlEz) hheh
Porsche 959 Turbo
Ferrari 550 Marenello?
Mitshubishi Eclipse (Fully packed)
`95 Toyota Supra RZ
`96 Mazda RX-7
`96 Acura NSX
And of course, last but not least.... Gotta save the funnest for last...
`99 Toyota Tacoma Totally redone with a 6 speed transmission and a 3.0 V6, with a 100% Grand National Baja ready suspension and body plating. Complete with roll bars and lights.

Gotta have some fun somewhere.

Well, all in all, it's still a F O R D.

Posted by: Hambones

I wouldn't mind havin' a 2003 Mc Laren F1.

At top speed, they create a vacuum with the road and could drive upside down. I don't want to hear any stupid comments about what I just said. I know its not practical application but its coo.

Posted by: The-AoD

I don't about anyone else, but I like the newer bettle concept of design. I would be more than happy to take a 2003 Cyber Green with a Black interor Volkswagen Beetle, before taking any other year Beetle.

But, I'd love the GLS-TDI

Posted by: The-AoD

Let me reiterate, I like the new concepts of most vehicles compared to thier older counterparts. eheh

ahh aod first that color of green is just nasty 2nd the new beetles blow

Posted by: Sarc

First off, people can like what they want to.

Second, I'm in the crowd that say's, "most old designs are better".

I don't much care for the new bettle, the new ThunderBird would of been cool if it was made that way in the era it appears to come from. But it just doesn't seem to fit in today's market.

But to re-iterate myself, if you like it, go for it.
I personally don't like Honda's, I don't like how common they are and that you have to pay anywhere between 5 - 20 thousand dollors to get one, then another 5 - 10 thousand fixing it up.
But that style of car just appeals to some... er... a-lot of people... ... ... anyway.
You like it, get it. And take what anyone else says against your taste's with a grain of salt.

Uh, I dont care for Honda's either, but the great thing about them is that you really never do have to fix them.

He... unless it's like the one I saw on the side of the highway last weekend.

Mid '90's Honda Accord with special smoke screen add-on package.

Thick, brown, nasty smelling smoke was bellowing out from under the hood and rolling into the cab.
And a lot of it.
Actually, now that I think of it, you're right, you wouldn't be fixing that one.
Cause it was going straight to the bone yard.

Posted by: AK47

Yeah, theres exceptions to everything. But, its common knowledge that Honda's are some of the longest lasting cars on the road. Them and Toyota are synonomous with build quality.

http://www.hondabeat.com/hbeat/highmiles.cfm

The link is to a site where people post stories about their high mileage Hondas. There are a few lightweights on there (like some people posting stories about how thier car has 150,000 miles..pfft!), but if you keep reading, you'll find some pretty good ones.

Posted by: Sarc

Al-right. Fine.

Imperfection is the spice of life. ... So there! ...

Posted by: Bobaroo

Honda's do not die!

They live forever.

Posted by: Sarc

He he...

"Speed kills, drive a Honda and live for ever." (Some web-site I came across some time ago.)

Posted by: The-AoD

"If speed kills, you're looking at a dead man..."

That was a nice fender sticker that came with my friends `99 CR250R HONDA Dirtbike

If that meant anything, we'd all be happy driving fords

Posted by: Sarc

Damn-it to hell!

Al-right, I give up, you win.

Anything to keep us from all driving Ford's.

Posted by: Spork Lover

Beetles are some loud cars...the aircooled beetles that is.

I saw one at the NOPI event at gateway not too long ago. Red with chrome everywhere. There was a cute blonde driving it, she was wearing a firesuit and helmet. Seeing this I was thinking...must be a fast beetle......boy was I ever wrong. 0-60mph.... 22 seconds...... 1/4 time......get this.... 22 seconds.

lol...

Right now I think the highest mileage vehicle still driven on the road is a honda accord.... some 1.5 million miles. its a 90's model too! the guy said he is still on the original clutch, and he's only had problems with the vtec system leaking fluid, and water pump/alternator/ and stuff youd expect to go out as you approach 1 million miles. A VW beetle used to hold this title.

Posted by: The-AoD

Well here's the thing about the older beetles. With the right mechanic you could tear a 2000cc VW motor down to the bare block and put it back together in an hour. They were simple, and they worked. That's what was good about them. But as for power and acceleration, they have yet to show any strengths upon that.

And what better than a beetle, to make a nice dunebuggy out of, that's all I would use an old one for. The new ones are just nice cars, with nice options.

And as for the dependability type argument, I know where sits a Toyota 2 wheel drive with a v-6. It is 100% original and it's approaching 400,000 miles. Only the normal stuff has been replaced, oil and oil filters, air filters, brakes and those kind of things.

Here's a spicey little thing that happened a while ago that just may explain things a little better. A hopper for the truck I drive rins an axle with two sleve bearings. One day they went to get a set of new bearings, but they only had one left that was "Made in U.S.A", and one japanese one. Needless to say, they had to buy one of each. Now come to pass 6 years later, the japanese bearing is still in great condition, and the American bearing has been repleaced 5 times.

It just goes to show you that precision is everything, and quick cheaper building means crap. So, just take that to the bank when you go to buy a new vehicle.
