A little while back I downloaded a program called Wally. It was for counter-strike so I could make my own spray pic...Anyways I couldn't figure out how to use it so I deleted it...But now everyone of my pics wants to open with Wally.exe...There is no "Open With" tab when I right click on it...Can someone plz tell me how to change it back

when you said you "deleted" it, did you uninstall it properly or did you just delete the folder containing its files? If you did the latter, then you pretty much messed it up since the registry still thinks "wally.exe" exists ... uninstalling it properly automatically removes file associations ...

:edit: just realized that the procedure below is what I would do in Windows 2000 ... the procedure in Windows 98 might be different ... check this link if you have Windows 98 or any other OS other than Windows 2000...

Anyway, to remove the association with "wally.exe", open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), then click on TOOLS in the menu, then Folder Options. Click on the "File Types" tab, and you will see a list of file extensions and the corresponding application that opens them.

Choose the image file extension you want to remove from "wally's" grasp and click on the Change button. It will then give you a list of installed software in your system ... click on the program you want to use to open that file extension then hit OK ...

Do this procedure for each file extension you need to de-associate...

Or you can download a program called FileAsoc ... I haven't personally used this program so use it at your own risk...

Hmmm if that works on winME, thank you sir laggy! Helpful that is! Who would have thought mephisto could ressurect himself and be good.

What difficulty is this message board on?

Thx so much Canis Lupus, I can now open picture files....Although it didn't work exactly the way you told me to do it....I jsut fooled around with it for a while, and I fixxed it....That FileAsoc thing didn't work either, I think it said it was missing a dll file or something.
