Now that I got my DVD-rom working what DVD's should I get? I've got two: Aliens special edition and the D2 one.
I'm going to be getting the T2 ultimate collection thingy, but I got cash to spend and such, so make some recomendations (and no "get this because it rules" BS I want your actual opinions (no matter how bad they may be ^^)

Any movie that you can tolorate watching more than once is always a good buy. Movies with lasting power. http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif
The Matrix is a good DVD buy. They have the making of on it too. A lot of them have that now it seems but it's interesting.
Braveheart is another good DVD buy. 1. because it's 2 VHS tapes if you get it in that format. But all of it fits on one DVD. 2. It's Braveheart! DVD quality sound of clashing broadswords, axes, shields, cries of rage. It's also a true story. Can't beat that. http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif
I hear the T2 Special edition has a lot of added footage. I might grab that one next myself.

this is a tech question but theres no need for me to start another thread. When exiting the DVD program (fullscren) and plugging my monitor back in normally, most text (specially white on black) looks.. grainy. Is this a bug or something or is it just me?

I've got about 80-100$ to burn if I compile all my change and cash.
About the only movies I'd care to watch over and over would be the Arrival and the Crow.
Dunno if either would be on DVD.
In addition to your suggestions on titles, can ya give me average prices too?

It could be that the DVD program you use sharpens the image a lot so your DVD picture looks clearer. This doesn't look so well though when you're trying to read text however.
Check and see if there's an update for your DVD software. It should change back to your normal settings when you exit. If your monitor has a reset button, that would probably work as well.
As for buying DVD's, you can get just about everything that's been out the last 15 years..hehe If you can't find a certain DVD, try Amazon.com out. They sell DVD's. http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif

It's settled.
I'll be getting braveheart, T2 ultimate collection, and one other DVD I'm unsure of.
Depending on the prices I'll probbally only get max 4, but I've got a 50$ certificate at Blockbuster, and they sell DVd's.. hrm.. !
I may just walk away grinning like a moron with a bundle of DVD's in a bag.

Get a nice big screen, some nice speakers with subwoofers, and Saving Private Ryan... That first battle scene will knock your house over. ;-)

If you got really great speakers, try out Mission Impossible (1 & 2) ... the action scenes have mindblowing music and sound .. I remember that chopper/train scene in MI 1 ... *drool*
