Windows XP video settings

Here's the situation:

Say I'm logged onto a WinXP machine with 5 different profiles. I change the video settings in my profile (which is not the main profile) and move some icons around.

When the owner of the computer logs on, she freaks out because "her icons all got smaller and disappeared!" (meaning the resolution was different and I'd moved some icons). Then, when I try to change her resolution back to what she's used to, the screen goes nuts and I have to use the buttons on the monitor to reshape the display and move it all around.

Is it possible for users of the same XP box to change settings on their profile only? I'm assuming that the psycho-screen effect when changing to a low resolution has to do with the craptastic onboard vid card.

wow, look's like xp would not do that. i run windows nt 4.0 at work and each user can have different resolution settings and it will not change the settings in other user's sessions. nt 4.0 has been around like forever and works extremely well in that regard. maybe there are some settings in xp that will allow it to not screw with the video settings in other user sesions. sorry i can't help. not that familiar with xp.

I won't say it.
