mmmm intestines....

They'll NIVIR take our haggis awa' fra us! Tha damn toffee-nosed blithering beaurocrats can take thir hoity-toity ways and stop interferin' wi' th' gud people uf thess great highland country ... oh, wait, that was great grandpa... Came to this country to escape the Great Haggis Famine of 1847.

Family recipe is available to anyone interested (brave?) enough in trying it. Pretty good, really.

more like dumb enough to try it... i rank haggis right in there with pretending snails, creaole cooking, crawdads, and bratwurst are actually foods.

Haggis is known the world over as a symbol of Scotland and is a dish we are proud of.

Oooooooooooh, that the United States could someday be so lucky. I will aspire to rise the great name of our beloved nation to such heights that it will be forever linked in the minds of all humanity with a sheep's crap factory that has been stuffed to bursting with low-grade tripe and beer fixin's.

Uh huh. And how do you like your eggs?

correction: bratwurst is the best food ever.

I am disappointed in the haggis warning. It is actually good. Guess I will just have to stick to menudo & tripas.

I wonder if those little land snails are any good? Aren't crawdads mini freshwater lobsters? Mmmmm. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

Posted by: Spider

crayfish!
crawdads LOL!

I'm disappointed in Janna's grouping of Creole food with inedible things. I make a kick-ass shrimp etoufee. You'd have to be nuts not to eat it once you smelled it cooking.

Unless, of course, you were allergic to seafood or something.

Posted by: redwench

i dont do seafood. ill take chicken etoufee however. (dont even consider turtle, or ill shoot you where you sit)

Posted by: Shalome

Turtles are pets.

I'll have to try a chicken etoufee one of these days (when it's cool enough to be in the kitchen for long amounts of time again).

Posted by: JANNA

i guess im thinking boudan sausage which in my opinion was imported as a cajun version of haggis...

Nice name for a dish.

Shrimp strangle....heh.
