  • Icewind Dale II has shipped (Aug. 27) and will be available in stores soon. The full press release is here.
  • Sony has launched the Everquest: Online Adventures public beta test site. View is here.
  • Battlefield 1942 has gone gold, says Blue's News. Expect a shipment on September 10th.
  • Shadowbane has shipped its pre-order box to EB, Gamestop, and CompUSA. Users who order the game this way will recieve additional goodies. And some think that game releases are over-hyped...hah. Details are here.
  • Codemasters will launch a special GOTY edition of Operation: Flashpoint. The release is here.
  • America's Army has went gold. The cd will be available for free at various Army recruiting stations. Alternatively, you can download it here.
  • The Grand Theft Auto: Vice City site was launched. Check it out here.
  • Sony has set off it's Playstation 2 online gaming service. MSNBC has the story.

Why do the screenshots on the shadowbane site look remarkably like it was based on the same engine as AO?

For the games sake, I hope it wasn't.

Isnt shadowbane all PvP? I dont see how that works right.

SB is total pvp (which is something I don't like much) but it's based around towns fighting towns in a feudal setup. There will be massed combat with towns fighting for space, control of the economy and political intrigue. The graphics are not up too EQ2 AC 2 ect but I am going to keep an open mind about it until I try it.
