Help please

I'm running a hp pavillion 8660c with windows 98... last nite I loaded Mcaffee clean disk software and ran the program... this morning I cannot get anything to work right... I cannot log onto the internet at all (aol) all the fonts seem to look different.... there seems to be alot of greek writing on some pages... I have no idea what has happened... I'm actually on a friends computer now.... any ideas on at least where to start would be greatly appreciated.... Thank you!!!!!!

Okay, you can't log onto the internet, but there seems to be "greek writing" on the pages? What pages?

Wow.. you are from the st. louis area.. I live in st. peters... for example when I open my computer and open the c drive on the left where it normally says c drive I can hardly read that... all the fonts have changed to a smaller size and seem to all be leaning one direction...when I hit the internet button on the keyboard I cant get it to log on at all... just a blank screen... I've tried the internet connection wizard and it won't do anything either....its almost like the clean disk wiped it out.... I was going to try to reinstall aol... but of course I don't have the disk....I thought I had better ask someone before I get to far into this!!

Yup, I live over on the Illinois side, in Fairview Heights.
First thing we're going to do is to change the writing so you can read it again.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Double click on Display.
Select the Appearance tab.
Under "Scheme" select "Windows Standard."
Click Apply.
This should put your fonts back to normal.
And it sounds like you'll probably need to reinstall AOL. I don't know why a clean disk would have done that, but hey.. I always was of the opinion that AOL should be treated as a virus.

thank you very much.... I agree about aol.. got rid of it and went to charter pipeline.. much bettter... I have to go back to the other computer to make the changes... thank you for your time.... I'll let you know how it works out...hope you enjoy the great weather today!!!See Ya
